Michael Granshaw

Michael Granshaw holds a degree in business studies, and is a fellow of the institute of chartered management accountants. During the early 1980s, after completing his education, he held various finance roles at a publicly-traded high technology company in the United Kingdom. In 1984, he joined a major US-based consumer product multinational, where he oversaw the costing and management reporting functions. In 1986, he was recruited by a US multinational in the health and beauty industry, and over the course of the next several years was rapidly promoted through various managerial positions, ultimately becoming Finance Director. After a number of years as Finance Director, Mr. Granshaw was promoted to General Manager of this organization’s Canadian division, responsible for the marketing, sales and distribution of fragrance products throughout Canada in department store, drug and mass merchandising retail environments.
In 1999, Mr Granshaw moved to Europe where, as Vice-President of New Product Development, he was responsible for a major corporate business process re-engineering project. This involved leading a small team consisting of specialists from the Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte & Touche, and senior managers from within the business. The objective was to define and the implement an improved new product development process.
Following the successful conclusion of this project in 2002, Mr. Granshaw returned to North America and joined a low cost airline start up, where he was initially Vice-President of Corporate Planning and later Chief Operating Officer (Commercial). Beginning operations with three aircraft, the Company grew to over $400 million in sales deploying twenty-five aircraft. Mr Granshaw oversaw the building of the airline brand with innovative marketing and creative promotional support resulting in consumer unaided awareness climbing to 36% and aided awareness to 82% within a two year period. He was also responsible for the launch a loyalty program achieving 600,000 registered members in the program within an 18 month timeframe.
In 2005, Mr. Granshaw was recruited by LBC Consulting Services to head up the Mergers & Acquisitions/Strategic Alliances/Investments component of the firm’s professional consulting practice. |
